This multi-thickness gauge combines versatility and precision. With duplex mode, real-time statistics, Hi-RES resolution, and wide international standard compliance (ISO, ASTM, SSPC etc.), the PosiTector 6000 FNDS3 supports both routine checks and demanding inspection protocols. Its ergonomic, portable design makes it practical for shop, field, or remote work.
In one reading, the FNDS3 probe measures the combined paint/zinc layer over ferrous substrate (magnetic method) and paint over zinc (eddy-current method), then computes the zinc layer by subtraction—efficient for duplex systems.
Coating range covers up to ~1.5 mm or 60 mils, with tight accuracy tolerances (e.g. ± (0.05 mil +1%) for thin paint layers). Great for both thin and moderately thick coatings.
2.8″ impact-resistant color touchscreen plus redesigned keypad; FAST mode allows 90+ readings/minute, Advanced scan modes up to 180+ readings/min. Speeds up inspections significantly.
